GEORGIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY Atlanta, GA
Georgia Institute of Technology campus enjoys over 400 acres and rests in the heart of urban Atlanta. Serving students from all walks of life and from all over the world, it is faced with the challenges of a topographically diverse site, pressure to continually update and improve its facilities, escalating research and commercial interests and an ever expanding diverse student body. Thus, the university has embarked on the development of an ADA transition plan with the goal of creating one of the most comprehensively accessible university campuses in the world. Working with the Campus Planning staff, and the Institute for Human Centered Design, Lemon | Brooke is creating the planning document for all of the outdoor areas which includes compiling raw survey data from the field, mapping the entire campus, determining the accessibility priorities and making recommendations for the transition plan to be implemented over the coming decade.
